g.X R\U I V A
February 11,2021
HWA Proposal No. 2021-P025-21
City of Everett
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, Washington 98201
Attention: Tom Hood,P.E.
Regarding: GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES
THE PRESERVE AT FOREST PARK
LANDSLIDE EVALUATION AND REPAIR
EVERETT,WASHINGTON
Dear Tom,
HWA GeoSciences Inc.(HWA)is pleased to present this proposal for geotechnical
engineering services associated with evaluating and developing a repair for a landslide
within the Reserve at Forest Park in Everett,Washington.
We understand that sidewalk and pavement distress has been observed along the southern
edge of 40th Place, within the residential development known as the Preserve at Forest
Park. The area exhibiting distress is Iocated at the top of a steep slope parcel that is
owned by the City of Everett Parks Department It is our understanding that the City
would like to determine the cause of the distress and design a solution to stop the
movement and stabilize the roadway and sidewalk. Based on our project understanding,
HWA proposes the following geotechnical scope of services to assist in the design of
these improvements.
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Review Available Soil Information: HWA will review all readily available
geotechnical information from the vicinity of the proposed project. This will
include a review of available geologic maps, online databases, and HWA's library
of geotechnical explorations to provide insight into the site soil conditions.
2. Plan Field Exploration Program: HWA will plan and coordinate a geotechnical
exploration program for the project. The program will consist of conducting one
day of limited access geotechnical drilling at the site. Planning will include
identification of the location of the geotechnical boring, development of traffic
control plans, and coordination of required equipment.
3. Conduct Utility Locates for Geotechnical Explorations: Prior to
generation of our geotechnical work plan,HWA will mark the
