l ORDINANCE NO. 3 B AN ORDINANCE establishing rules and regulations relating to the installation of lawn sprinkling systems and equipment relating thereto and providing for examinations, certificates of competency and licenses for Lawn Sprinkler Mechanics and Lawn Sprinkler Contractors, and defining terminology thereof. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : Definitions : The definitions set forth in this ordinance shall govern its construction. Section 2 : "Journeyman Lawn Sprinkler Mechanic" Journey- man Lawn Sprinkler Mechanic means an individual who installs, removes, alters or repairs any lawn sprinkler system or part thereof, as an employee of a Licensed Lawn Sprinkler Contractor or Licensed Master Plumber and who does not furnish any materials or supplies and who is licensed as a Journeyman Lawn Sprinkler Mechanic and holds a Journeyman Lawn Sprinkler Mechanic ' s Certificate of Competency as required by this Ordinance . Section 3 : 'Lawn Sprinkler Contractor" Lawn Sprinkler Contractor means every person engaged in, or engaging in, the furnishIg either by contract, sub-contract, day labor or otherwise, any labor in the installation, removal, repair or alteration of any lawn sprinkler system or part thereof. Section 4: 'Journeyman Plumber' Journeyman Plumber means an individual who installs, removes, alters or repairs plumbing and drainage systems or parts thereof, as an employee of a Licensed Master Plumber and who does not furnish any materials or supplies and who is licensed as a Journeyman Plumber and holds a valid Journeyman Plumber ' s Certificate of Competency issued by the Board of Plumber Examiners of the City of Everett. Section 5 : `Master Plumber'' Master Plumber means every person engaged in, or engaging in, the furnishing either by contract, sub-contract, day labor, or otherwise, any labor in the business of plumbing and who is licensed as a Master Plumber and holds a valid Master Plumber ' s Certificate of Comptency issued by the Board of Plumber Examiners of the City of Everett. Section 6: "Lawn Sprinkler System Lawn Sprinkler System is a combination of inter-connected water-containing parts, pipes, fittings, valves, backflow preventers, sprinkler heads, with their devices, appurtenances and connection near any building or elsewhere, for conducting a water supply for sp±inkling or irrigating lawns, shrubs and flowers . Section 7: "Back Flow" Back flow is the flow of water or other liquids, mixtures or substances into the distributing pipes of a potable supply of water from and sources other than its intended source .
