. •y <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. .6,6 t,`7 <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF THE <br /> 3 VARIOUS OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, <br /> 4 DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES; FIXING THEIR SALARIES; PROVIDING FOR <br /> MEDICAL SERVICES; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3802 OF THE CITY OF <br /> 5 EVERETT; REPEALING CHAPTER 1 .16 AND CHAPTER 1 .24, CITY CODE OF <br /> EVERETT; AND DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON <br /> 6 JANUARY 1, 1962, AND ESTABLISHING CODE NUMBERS . <br /> 7 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 8 SECTION 1: That beginning January 1, 1962, and on and <br /> after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and <br /> 9 employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided <br /> for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this <br /> 10 ordinance provided. (Chapter 1.16.010) <br /> 11 SECTION 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT <br /> 12 There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a <br /> Special City Attorney, a stenographer and a relief stenographer <br /> 13 (all part time) . <br /> 14 Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall <br /> perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct. <br /> 15 (Chapter 1.16.020) <br /> 16 SECTION 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT <br /> 17 There shall be in the City Hall Department two janitors <br /> and a Relief Janitor, Day Laborer. Said Janitors shall perform <br /> 18 the janitor work in connection with the City Hall . The Mayor <br /> shall be the head of the Department . (1 .16.030) <br /> 19 SECTION 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT <br /> 20 There shall be in the Library Department the following <br /> 21 named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: <br /> 22 One Director; one Catalog Librarian; One Reference <br /> Librarian; one Children's Librarian; one Circulation Librarian; <br /> 23 one Assistant Reference Librarian; one Library Assistant, <br /> Juvenile; one Bookkeeper; one Secretary; one Periodicals Clerk; <br /> 24 one Circulation Clerk; one Clerk; Processing; one Clerk; one <br /> Janitor; one Bookmender, PT; Two Clerks, PT; Four Librarians, <br /> 25 PT; Five Pages, PT; one Janitress, PT. <br /> 26 The Director shall be in general charge and shall have <br /> supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, assis- <br /> tants27 and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the <br /> nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the <br /> 28 Director.
