W PUBLIC WORKS <br />Ross: <br />iii. Treatment is required if infiltrating surface water from the artificial turf field. <br />The artificial turf is considered a pollution -generating surface that could result in <br />contamination of groundwater and treatment will be required (sand layer, soil <br />amendment, or document that the existing soils are suitable in accordance with <br />Vol III Section 3.4.2 of the Ecology manual). <br />iv. Provide an overflow for the infiltration trench and identify overflow path for the <br />artificial turf field. Overflow shall be designed to convey surface water flow in <br />the event of failure of the infiltration facility. <br />v. Aggregate fill shall be encased in geotextile fabric per the 2010 SWMM Vol. 3, <br />Section, 9.7.2. <br />vi. A monitoring well shall be installed per the 2010 SWMM Vol. 3, Section, 9.7.2. <br />vii. Design must ensure that infiltrated surface water from the new turf field does not <br />compromise existing retaining wall to the south (design must prevent flow of <br />water out the south side of the wall). <br />viii. Provide documentation from WA Department of Ecology that the infiltration <br />trench is not considered an underground injection well. Otherwise the infiltration <br />trench must be registered with the Department of Ecology. <br />ix. Operation and Maintenance manual states that the infiltration trench will have 2 <br />control structures, but none are shown on the plans. <br />x. Property owner will be responsible for operating and maintaining artificial turf <br />and infiltration facility and keeping it in working order. <br />3.
