The existing blocks were used to reconstruct <br /> the wall as a gravity wall. <br /> The wall construction was observed on a daily basis and the block placement,subgrade preparation <br /> and drainage installation were in accordance with the design plans and our recommendations. The <br /> native soils were used as fill between the temporary cut and the fabric wrapped drainage zone. <br /> The fill was placed in lifts and each lift adequately compacted with a double drum roller. The slope <br /> fill was also placed in lifts and compacted by tracking and compaction with the bucket of the <br /> excavator to a firm and unyielding condition. <br /> Imported topsoil was placed over the native soil surface,a layer of weed barrier fabric was placed <br /> and bark over the barrier.
