See addenddum No 5
Specification Section 00 2113 1.31 State Sales Tax Paragraph D States:"The Contractor shall
include State retail sales taxes in the unit bid prices where applicable."
14 The State Tax Law for Retail Sales Tax states(Rule 170):"Contractor shall not Include the Retail Walsh
Sales Tax in the Bid prices or in any other contract amount." 00 21 13-1.31 instructs the Contractor to Include WSST in the unit bid prices"where applicable".As the Contractor has noted,Rule
Which retail tax rule Is the contractor to follow? Can the City of Everett please verify and 170 states to not include WSST.Therefore,It Is not applicable to this project to include WSST in the bid items. The Bid Form has a
confirm what Tax rule the contractor is supposed to follow. line for WSST to be Included on the sub-total.
15 Sheet E3 enlarged plan shows two boxes between I-Boxes with no callout. Please clarify what
these boxes are Intended to be. Walsh Hand Holes
Sheet D120 shows abandoning a segment of underground communication and power lines at
16 the South West corner of reservoir 4.Note 10 calls for removal of existing utility at limits
•
required to make proposed connection. If removal is required, will the contractor need to Walsh
replace? The proposed design re-routes power/comms to the valve house.Reinstallation of the removed power/comets is not required.
17 Sheet D170 shows a power line attached to the reservoir wall that runs into the Valve House. Is Walsh
the contractor to remove or abandon power line coming from the valve house to reservoir 2? Abandon in place.
See Addendum No 5
Specification(Raceways and Boxes)26 05 33-3.1(C)states"Provide rigid steel conduit for
raceways embedded In structural reinforced concrete, below floor slabs-on-grade,in damp or
corrosive locations,in hazardous areas, for exposed installations where subject to damage, for
18 sizes 1.25-inch and larger,and at all locations not otherwise specified."C2 states"Use PVC-RGS Walsh
in corrosive locations, hazardous(classified)areas,in structural reinforced concrete,or below
floor slabs-on-grade,unless otherwise noted.PVC or fiberglass conduit maybe used under
concrete slabs, where approved by the engineer."Each material seems to have the same
requirements for installation. Please clarify when to use each type conduit.
19 is the bidder to assume that the water to test both new reservoirs will be provided by the City at Yes for testing the reservoirs. However, for pressure testing and flushing the water pipes, you'll need to obtain a hydrant permit
no cost to the Contractor? Fowler which is metered and the water used will be charged to the contractor
Also, upon successful completion of the test and achieving the proper chlorination, would the
20 City accept the volume in each Reservoir to be put into their water supply system, thus saving Fowler
time and money by not having to drain each reservoir tank? No
21 If not approved, how is the reservoir testing water to be disposed? Fowler Testing water will be disposed into Res 4(non-potable reservoir),just to the east of the two new tanks
22 There appears to be some ambiguity and confusion In steel pipe jointing on whether the steel
pipe is butt strap welded or bell and spigot/lap welded. Graham See Addendum No 5
23 Per page 1 of the attached,I can't find all the test station locations. Norton See Addendum No 5
24 On page 2 of the attached,I don't see all the bonding locations Norton See Addendum No 5
