26. Extended Overhead: The increase in Overhead costs attributable to an extension of <br /> Contract Time. <br /> 27. Extra Work: Providing materials and Equipment and the performance of Work not <br /> directly called for in, or implied by, the Contract Documents, such that Contractor <br /> would be entitled to an adjustment of Contract Sum and possibly an extension of <br /> Contract Time. <br /> 28. Field Order: A written order issued by Owner's Representative that requires minor <br /> changes in the Work, but does not involve a change in the Contract Sum or the <br /> Contract Time. <br /> 29. Final Acceptance: Formal action by Everett City Council determining that all of the <br /> Contractor's Work has been completed, except for any landscaping maintenance. <br /> 30. Float: The amount of time between the early start date and the late start date, or the <br /> early finish date and the late finish date of any activity in the project schedule. <br /> 31. Force Account: Costs of performing Work as defined in 9.6. Force Account. <br /> 32. Furnish, Install, Perform, Provide, Supply: The word "Furnish" or the word "Install" or <br /> the word "Perform" or the word "Provide" or the word "Supply," or any combination <br /> or similar directive or usage thereof, shall mean furnishing and incorporating in the <br /> Work including all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and everything necessary to <br /> perform the Work indicated, unless specifically limited in the context used. <br /> 33. General Conditions: This DOCUMENT 007213 of the Contract Documents. <br /> 34. May: Conduct that is permitted, but not required. <br /> 35. Milestone: A principal event specified in the Contract documents relating to an <br /> intermediate completion date or time prior to Substantial Completion of all the Work. <br /> 36. Notice: A signed,written communication by the Contractor to the Owner as described <br /> in ARTICLE 10. NOTICE TO OWNER. <br /> 37. Notice of Award: The written notice from the City of Everett to the successful Bidder <br /> signifying the City's acceptance of the Bid. No Contract is formed until the Effective <br /> Date. <br /> 38. Notice to Proceed: The written Notice from the Owner or Owner's Representative to <br /> the Contractor authorizing and directing the Contractor to proceed with the Work and <br /> establishing the date on which the Contract Time begins. Multiple and partial Notices <br /> to Proceed may be issued on a single Project. <br /> 39. Over-absorbed Overhead: Over recovery of fixed indirect costs that occurs when a <br /> Contractor performs more overall Work than it otherwise would have performed. <br /> 40. Overhead: For the purpose of calculating additional compensation under this section <br /> of the Contract, Overhead shall include only those costs that are expended for the <br /> administration of the business as a whole.
