' CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> DIVISION 4 - BASES <br /> 4-04 BALLAST AND CRUSHED SURFACING <br /> 4-04.1 Description <br /> Delete the second paragraph of 4-04.1 and substitute the following: <br /> Work shall also consist of placing crushed surfacing stone as driveway maintenance <br /> material and in gravel driveway restoration as shown on the Plans or directed by the <br /> Engineer. The quantity shown in the Proposal is an estimate for the purpose of <br /> establishing a unit price only. Actual quantities will be measured as construction <br /> progresses. The Engineer may require that some or all of the crushed surfacing be <br /> removed because of contamination or to meet final grades. Removal shall be included <br /> with work for"Crushed Surfacing Top Course" or"Crushed Surfacing Base Course." <br /> 4-04.3 Construction Requirements <br /> ' Supplement 4-04.3 by adding the following: <br /> 4-04.3(12) Gravel Driveway Restoration <br /> (******) <br /> ' Replace existing gravel driveways removed in order to allow construction of the new <br /> improvements as follows: <br /> Restore gravel driveways by placing a minimum of 3-inches of"Crushed Surfacing Base <br /> ' Course" on subgrade compacted to 95 percent standard density in accordance with 2- <br /> 03.3(14)D. <br /> Preparation and compaction of the subgrade shall be included in "Crushed Surfacing <br /> ' Base Course" with no direct compensation made. <br /> 4-04.3(13) Gravel Driveway Maintenance <br /> (******) <br /> Maintain existing driveway access by providing and placing Crushed Surfacing Base <br /> Course as necessary and directed by Engineer to allow continued access until <br /> completion of final gravel drive restoration. <br /> 4-04.4 Measurement <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 2-02.4 and substitute the following: <br /> Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> ' described in Division B —Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br /> 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 4-04.5 Payment <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 2-02.5 and substitute the following: <br /> Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br /> ' as described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br /> Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> Supplement Division 4 with the following: <br /> 4-06 ASPHALT TREATED BASE (ATB) <br /> 4-06.1 Description <br /> Asphalt treated base consists of a compacted course of base material which has been <br /> weatherproofed and stabilized by treatment with an asphalt binder. <br /> ' Water Main Replacement"V" Division 4—BASES April,2021 <br /> WO No—UP3730 SP—141 <br /> 1 <br />
