• <br /> June 9, 2021 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Tuohy <br /> who was recused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Council Member Tuohy returned to the meeting at 6:56 p.m. <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br /> Rethink Housing Action Plan Project Update <br /> Presented by Yorik Stevens-Wajda and Becky McCrary, <br /> Community, Planning & Economic Development; and <br /> Chris Collier, Alliance for Housing Affordability <br /> Considerable discussion ensued relating to Mr. Collier's presentation on the <br /> Snohomish County housing perspective,which resulted in the following questions: <br /> • <br /> • With rising housing prices,what information is emerging about the sale <br /> of rental homes to individual homeowners? <br /> • When looking at housing types, to what degree has the design of <br /> housing units fitting in within a neighborhood context encouraged or <br /> discouraged the acceptance of higher density within a neighborhood? <br /> • How can we make this information and message more accessible to <br /> our community? <br /> • Regarding housing stock versus need, is there any data that allows for <br /> a projection forward for the next two to five years? <br /> • Questions regarding parking maximums rather than minimums or if <br /> parking is allowed at all? <br /> • Is there any additional data about changes in the condominium market <br /> that resulted from condo reform legislation a couple of years ago? <br /> • How and why housing development does or does not happen in certain <br /> areas? <br /> • With respect to design guidelines, how do we accommodate greater <br /> density in a way that works for the community? <br /> • <br /> 6 <br />
