1 GLF 2-08.DOCX <br /> 2 2-08 STREET CLEANING <br /> 1 <br /> 3 (******) <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Section 2-08 of the standard specifications is vacant shall be replaced by the following: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 2-08.1 Description <br /> 8 <br /> 9 This work shall consist of sweeping all construction related roads, and cleaning the <br /> 10 pavement and removing debris from the roadway. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 2-08.2 Vacant <br /> 13 ' <br /> 14 2-08.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 15 I 16 The use of water to perform street sweeping work shall be held to a minimum unless <br /> 17 designated otherwise by the Engineer. The contractor shall provide self-propelled pickup <br /> 18 sweepers and/or vacuum pick up sweepers for pavement cleaning and debris removal <br /> 19 whenever their use is ordered by the Engineer. The type and number of sweepers are I <br /> 20 subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Daily sweeping shall continue on all construction related roads at least once per day until I <br /> 23 said surface is covered with new HMA. In the event the Contractor sweeper will not be <br /> 24 able to work daily on ground surfaces, the City Forces will provide services, and the <br /> 25 Contractor will be billed for each hour of operation. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The following work shall not be paid by "Street Cleaning", it shall be included in the bid <br /> 28 item "Planing Bituminous Pavement" (2" Deep), per square yard: <br /> 29 <br /> 30 1. Sweepers following the grinding work. <br /> 31 2. Debris left in the road or on the side of the road from Planing Bituminous <br /> 32 Pavement. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 The Contractor shall plan the operation to minimize the need for street cleaning. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 2-08.4 Measurement <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Street cleaning will be measured by the hour for the actual time consumed in sweeping, <br /> 39 pavement cleaning, and debris removal. No allowance will be made for time consumed <br /> 40 in making repairs to the equipment or for moving the equipment to or from the site on <br /> 41 which the street cleaning is ordered. No separate payment will be made for water I <br /> 42 required for the normal operation of the pickup sweepers. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 2-08.5 Payment <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1-04.1 for the following bid item: <br /> 47 <br /> 48 "Street Cleaning", per hour. <br /> 49 <br /> I <br /> 2021 PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE OVERLAY PAGE 44 OF 84 DIVISION T <br /> WORK ORDER 3751 MARCH 29,2021 <br />
