The 2nd Story office area shown on Sheet A0.4 requires the southwest stairway as one of its exit access path. Based on a review of existing building drawings, the exit is located on the 1st Story at the southwest corner of the building, and includes inward swinging doors. The office area has an occupant load of over 100, with at least 50 occupant using this exit access path. The existing doors shall be modified to swing outward in the direction of egress travel. See IEBC Section 805.4.2 and IBC Section 1010.1.2.1. MA response:See HCS drawing that show the existing exit doors being modified to swing outwards on sheetA0.4. Accessibility: 7. The project involves Level 2 Alterations to the building per IEBC Chapter 8. Accessibility improvements per IEBC Section 705.2 shall be included in the project. Where the building is made to be less than fully-accessible per one of the exceptions, documentation substantiating the limited accessibility improvements shall be submitted for review. See IEBC Section 806.1. MA response: This has been addressed on sheetA0.4 This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett.
