Subsurface Exploration, Geologic Hazards,
View Ridge Community Church Addition and Geotechnical Engineering Report
Everett, Washington Project and Site Conditions
I. PROJECT AND SITE CONDITIONS
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of our subsurface exploration, geologic hazards, and
geotechnical engineering studies for the proposed View Ridge Community Church Addition in
Everett, Washington. The site location is shown on the "Vicinity Map," Figure 1, and, the
approximate location of the subsurface exploration completed for this study is shown on the
"Site and Exploration Plan," Figure 2. A log of the subsurface exploration completed for this
study is included in Appendix A.
1.1 Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this study was to provide geotechnical engineering recommendations to be
utilized in the preliminary design of the proposed View Ridge Community Church Addition. This
study included a review of selected available geologic literature, drilling one exploration boring,
and performing geologic studies to assess the type, thickness, distribution, and physical
properties of the subsurface sediments and ground water, if any. Geotechnical engineering
studies were completed to establish recommendations for site preparation, structural fill,
foundation design, site drainage, slab -on -grade parameters, slope stability, and setbacks and
buffers from the steep slope. This report summarizes our fieldwork and offers
recommendations based on our present understanding of the project. We recommend that we
be allowed to review the recommendations presented in this report and revise them, if needed,
when project plans have been further developed.
1.2 Authorization
Authorization to proceed with this study was granted by Pastor E.T. Tapper with the View Ridge
Community Church. Our work was completed in general accordance with our scope of work
and cost proposal dated July 11, 2016. This report has been prepared for the exclusive use of
View Ridge Community Church and its agents, for specific application to this project. Within
the limitations of scope, schedule and budget, our services have been performed in accordance
with generally accepted geotechnical engineering and engineering geology practices in effect in
this area at the time our report was prepared. No other warranty, express or implied, is made.
August 29, 2016 ASSOCIATED EARTH SCIENCES, INC.
SKL11d-KE160351A2-ProjectsJ20160351JKEJWP Page 1
