0 9;
structures and antennas shall be designed, constructed, painted and screened so as to blend with
surrounding uses and buildings.
Finding: The ground mounted equipment will be screened by an existing wood fence. The pole mounted
equipment will be painted to blend in with the color of the pole.
Antennas associated with above ground utility or communications facilities shall be located on
existing or replacement towers or structures to the maximum extent technically feasible to
discourage the proliferation of tower structures.
Finding: The proposal is for the antennas to be co -located on a utility pole.
Tower structures shall not be located in or within three hundred feet of residentially zoned areas
unless the applicant provides an analysis of alternative sites and existing facilities which are
technically feasible where the structure could be located or co -located which demonstrates that the
proposed facility cannot adequately serve the needs of the public for the proposed utility or
communications service in an alternative location. When existing facilities are used or replaced,
addition to or replacement of existing structures may exceed the height of the existing facility by
not more than twenty feet.
Finding: The replacement utility pole will be 20 feet taller than the existing pole.
• Above ground utility and communications facilities shall be designed so as to be the lowest height
possible to adequately serve the needs of the public for the proposed utility or communications
service.
Finding: The increased height of 20 feet is within the allowed limits while providing the line of sight
necessary for transmission to achieve the needed coverage.
• Towers associated with above ground utility and communication facilities and all ancillary
structures shall comply with the setback standards of the zone in which the property is located.
Finding: The ground mounted equipment meets the ten foot street side setback.
DECISION
The proposal is approved as submitted subject to compliance with all city, state and federal regulations and the
following condition.
1. Includes ' with the building permit application a landscape plan. The strip of land between the fence and
sidewalk along the Fulton Avenue frontage shall be landscaped with live vegetation.
Date:
Allan Giffen, Dir 'ct r
Planning Department
This is an administrative decision that may be appealed to the City's Land Use Hearing Examiner.
