U
To File
FR1 1. Joe Y,ozlovski
DATE January 27, 1976
SUBJECT CASCADE SAVINGS & LOAN
RIGHT-OF-WAY PERMIT
CITY OF EVERETT. EVERETT. WASHINGTON
4. No permit for use of the sidewalk or pedestrian walkways will
be granted in front of the Kress building where Nordstrom's is
in process of remodel.
5. The location of the fence and pedestrian walkway at the corner
of Hewitt and Colby will be set back one grid pattern of
aggregate concrete (eight feet) to allow West Coast to complete
erection of the spanners, lights, traffic signals, and pulling
the wiring through the sidewalk level handholds. This loca-
tion may be realigned closer to the corner when West Coast
Construction does not require the area for their work.
6. Cascade will be responsible for removal of all existing planted
trees on project, their storage during demolition -construction
and the replanting after the sidewalk is put back into finished
condition September 1, 1976.
7. The City will delete from the West Coast contract all quarry
tile installation within the area between the diagonal lines of the
aggregate concrete located in the Woolworth section to the Kress
section. This work will be done by Cascade after the use of the
sidewalk for construction purposes has been completed. The
spaces between the aggregate concrete squares will be finished
by West Coast Construction before the demolition takes place and
will be accepted by the City in the finished state so that no addi-
tional work between the aggregate concrete squares will be
necessary to finish after construction of the bank is complete. It
will be the responsibility of Cascade however, to protect the
existing work from damage of demolition -construction and any
damage to the underground irrigation lines and utilities or finished
surfaces that occur due to the demolition -construction will be re-
placed at the expense of Cascade.
8. The City has responsibility to purchase from West Coast all
tile which is already purchased by them for the project. The
City will buy this at invoice cost. It is this material that will
be provided to Cascade for the completion of the sidewalks
once the demolition -construction is completed on the bank
building. (Mr. Newland asked the Engineering Department tb
provide him a square foot area of the tile work which is to be
done by him. This would not include the rounded corner at
the very tip of the two street intersection.)
V
