Suite A
Seattle, WA 98119
Subject: Proposed Planters in Alley Right -of -Way (2828 Colby Ave.)
Dear Mr. Terrill:
In answer to your 6/5/82 letter and discussions with Dennis Gabelman proposing
to plant ivy in the alley R.O.W. behind Cascade Savings, 2828 Colby Ave.; v c
have reviewed your proposal and deem it necessary to deny the request for
several reasons:
1. Cuts placed in the alley would allow- surface wotcr to get under the
alley surface.
2. The holes you propose would be a potential liability to the City if
someone should trip in them.
3. Any type of plantings placed in the cuts would branch out root
systems under the alley slab which is not a desirable condition for
potential future maintenance of the alley surface.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call me at 259-881 I.
Sincerely,
ALFRED R.
