o. Maintain a profitable merchandise operation that is consistent with <br /> customer demographics and needs. <br /> p. Establish sales goals and forecasts for all golf shop programs and services; <br /> monitor and analyze reports. <br /> q. Coordinate, if designated, all golf shop related purchasing. <br /> r. Closely monitor cash and systems' controls to ensure the safekeeping of <br /> assets, inventory and resources. <br /> s. Supervise physical inventories and the display of merchandise. Assist in <br /> the development of necessary systems to safeguard inventories. <br /> t. Assist in publishing informational and promotional materials. <br /> u. Compile information from market competition for comparison studies to <br /> properly position the course in the marketplace. <br /> v. Train, motivate and develop golf staff to ensure effective performance and <br /> growth through consistent on-the-job training. <br /> w. Develop business and long-range marketing plans supporting <br /> departmental goals, directions and priorities. <br /> x. Complete accurate forecasts evaluating financial components based on <br /> current trends and knowledge of future events affecting business. <br /> y. Develop, with General Manager, strategies to ensure customer satisfaction <br /> and optimize business performance and profitability. <br /> z. Manage vendor performance to optimize profitability and achieve <br /> financial objectives. <br /> aa. Maintain collaborative partnerships and negotiate effectively with <br /> vendors and golf shop staff members. <br /> bb. As required by the City, attend regular and special meetings of the Board <br /> of Park Commissioners,Parks Department and recognized clubs to discuss <br /> areas of responsibility for the benefit of the City. <br /> cc. Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; <br /> determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance <br /> sales and studying trends. <br /> 5 <br />
