• All bathroom sinks have existing pipe protection. Field verified by customer
March 1st, 2021. No change required. I have made a note in each bathroom
on Sheet 1, as well as Details E2, E3, E5, and E6 on Sheet 3.
The details should clearly indicate the flush control is required on the open side of the
water closet.
• Flush controls have been field verified March 1st, 2021 and are in
accordance with ADA requirements. Each bathroom has the flush handle on
the open side of the water closet. I have added notes to Sheet 1 and to Details
E2 and E5 on Sheet 3.
The height of the water closet should be specified.
• Water closets have been field verified March 1st, 2021. Height from floor to
top of seat is 18". I have added dimensions to Details El, E2, E4, and E5 on
Shet 3.
The front door appears to include notes regarding the ramp.
• [There is no ramp. Threshold meets 1/2" max height requirement. Back door
also meets this requirement.]
Previous comments regarding the front door (i.e., accessibility improvements per IEBC
Section 705.2) not complying with accessibility requirements were addressing the fact
that the door does not have a minimum side clearance of 18" as required by ICC
A117.1-09 Figure 404.2.3.2(a). Again, the review comments are not requiring that the
door be revised. The front door has only been identified as a potential issue that could
be improved to satisfy the requirements of IEBC Section 705.2.
• This was a great idea until, per the owner, the stone adjacent to each side of
the entry way has been identified as structural. Cutting the stone to provide
18" clear space on each of the front entry is not feasible. I have revised the
note on to show actual clearance.
Detail B on Sheet 2 includes connection of the walls to the trusses. This potentially puts
a lateral load on the bottom truss chords, which they are not designed to support. The
bottom chords should be braced (e.g., diagonal bracing extending up to the roof
sheathing, etc.).
• I have replaced the connection method with a Simpson Type HDTC4 wall to
truss connector. See Detail B, Sheet 2. This will allow the trusses to move
independently of the wall and still maintain structural integrity.
