Future work on these buildings will not be permitted until these deficiencies have been addressed. The design team is working under the assumption that the previous projects did not include accessibility improvements. The Intent is for restrooms to be provided by adjacent buildings. See attached sheet AS-100 updated to show partial interior floor plans denoting location of accessible restrooms and path. All updates denoted in red. All accessible bathrooms features have been verified by school district and the Architect. See additional photos attached to this letter. The closest restrooms are the restrooms in adjacent building close to the portable classrooms. It does have paved ADA access from exterior directly into the building and then into the restrooms. The restroom has full ADA restroom stall with appropriate ADA sinks. The drain protection cover is missing and will be installed with new. Only items that does not meet the current ADA stall requirement is the vertical grab bar at the side of the toilet. This missing item will be addressed separately by the district at later date when other work is being done at the school. 3. The drawings do not include documentation substantiating that an accessible path is provided between the new units and the restroom facilities. One or more of the buildings appears to have paved surfaces based on a review of media images of the project sites, but this cannot be clearly confirmed. The site conditions for 2215 Pine Street (B2004- 013) are notably more difficult to verify. Documentation substantiating that a fully - accessible route is provided between the buildings and into the building (i.e., exterior ingress doors). These requirements are separate from the improvement requirements discussed in the previous comments. See IBC Sections 1101.2 and 1104.1. Accessible paths have been denoted on attached drawings.
