Element # 1: Mark Clearing Limits
Prior to beginning construction activities, all clearing and construction limits shall be
delineated. The clearing limits are typically marked with a construction fence (BMP
C103). The TESC Plan shows the clearing limits for the project.
Element #2: Establish Construction Access
The site is currently accessible to construction vehicles from a driveway off 132"d Street
SE. If sediment tracking becomes an issue during construction, it is recommended that
a Wheel Wash (BMP C106) be utilized.
No sediment tracking on the roadway is allowed. In the event that sediment is
inadvertently tracked onto the road, the road shall be cleaned thoroughly by the end of
that day. Sediment shall be removed from roads by shoveling, sweeping or by another
approved means and transported to a controlled sediment disposal area. No street
washing of sediments to the storm drain system will be allowed.
Element #3: Control Flow Rates
Given the size of the project and the layout, Silt Fencing (BMP C233) should be
sufficient to control generated runoff during construction by utilizing containment areas
with Silt Fencing along the perimeter. See the plan exhibits in Appendix B. If it is
determined that additional measures are needed or instructed by the Inspector, contact
the Certified Erosion Control Lead or Project Engineer immediately to discuss.
Additional BMPs may be employed as needed as field conditions warrant.
Element #4: Install Sediment Controls
Storm Drain Inlet Protection (BMP C220) shall be installed on all catch basins located
near the project site. See the TESC Plan in Appendix B.
Element #5: Stabilize Soils
Exposed and un-worked soils, such as soil stockpiles, shall be stabilized by application
of effective erosion control measures that protect the soil from the erosive forces of
raindrops, flowing water, and wind. Such measures include Plastic Covering (BMP
C123) and Temporary and Permanent Seeding (BMP C120).
The "Wet Season" is from October 1 to April 30. Within this period, no soils shall
remain exposed and un-worked for more than 2 days. The "Dry Season" is from May 1
to September 30. Within this period, no soils shall remain exposed and un-worked for
more than 7 days. This stabilization requirement applies to all soils on -site, whether at
final grade or not. Soils shall be stabilized at the end of each shift before a holiday or
weekend (if needed) based on the weather forecast.
