The single -hatched area
follows the curb and enters the building with a 2% side slope. The cross -hatched areas are transition zones similar to a
curb cut where the side slope may be slightly greater.
The sidewalk area closest to the building closely follows the existing sidewalk line at the building, but has a steeper
cross -slope and meets up with the door threshold where there is now a step up to the door sill.
We believe the grade elevations we show are the worst -case scenario, as we think the existing slopes are actually less
than we've assumed here.
If this concept of providing ADA access into and past the building frontage is acceptable, the contractor will be able to
provide more accurate information. Another thing to consider— the building does have wheelchair access from the
parking lot on the west and from the street on the east side.
Please review this at your earliest convenience and let me know if this approach will be acceptable, with additional
verification on the site.
Thanks,
Tom Chapel
Principal
. aHutteball&Oremus /r
ARCHITECTURE _r n L,,
4010 Lake Washington Blvd. NE.
