• <br /> August 11, 2021 <br /> Council Member Roberts requested that Julie come back to Council as soon as <br /> possible when better information is obtained on the CARES Act allocation and <br /> information on rental assistance and the impacts on Everett's housing <br /> marketplace due to COVID-19. He stated he would like to hear recommendations <br /> on the best approach to find more resources for housing to assist the City in <br /> developing appropriate requests at the federal, state, and local levels. <br /> Council Member Bader suggested the use of American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds <br /> for additional pallet shelter units. He also expressed concern about the unsafe <br /> nature of public camping and the need to focus on individuals who will not accept <br /> help. Council Member Bader also spoke about the negative impacts on residents <br /> and suggested a possible challenge to the Martin vs. Boise Supreme Court case be <br /> considered. <br /> Council Member Moore spoke about the impacts of homelessness on the <br /> community and the need to take a stronger stance on public policy. <br /> • President Stonecipher stated she would like more detailed information about <br /> Everett's homeless population, more information about the plan, and what needs <br /> to be accomplished. <br /> Council Member Murphy asked President Stonecipher to consider scheduling a <br /> separate workshop in the next 2-3 months. <br /> President Stonecipher state she would work with Administration to schedule a <br /> future workshop. <br /> The City Council meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p.m. <br /> Jh4O7) <br /> City Clerk <br /> Read and approved as printed. <br /> Cou cil President <br /> • <br /> 9 <br />
