18.0 ASSURANCE DEVICE <br />Pursuant to EMC 19.37.240, the city shall require an assurance device to ensure compliance with <br />the required critical area mitigation and protection. Per EMC 19.40.050, a performance <br />assurance device shall be provided to the City of Everett for the period of five years from the <br />completion of the project, in the amount of 300 percent of the estimated cost of the work or <br />improvements based on estimated costs immediately following the expiration of the device. <br />Additionally, a maintenance assurance device in the amount of at least 10 percent of the cost of <br />replacing the materials covered by the assurance device based on estimated costs on the last day <br />covered by the device. The following project cost estimates are provided for the purpose of <br />determining the amount of assurance devices. This does not represent a bid. <br />Plant Material, installed (1 gallon; 374 qty @ $11.50 each) $4,301.00 <br />Estimated cost of monitoring ($1,500/year; 5 years) $7,500.00 <br />Estimated cost of maintenance ($350/year; 5 years) $1,750.00 <br />Total Estimated Project Cost $13,551.00 <br />*Note.
