18.0 ASSURANCE DEVICE Pursuant to EMC 19.37.240, the city shall require an assurance device to ensure compliance with the required critical area mitigation and protection. Per EMC 19.40.050, a performance assurance device shall be provided to the City of Everett for the period of five years from the completion of the project, in the amount of 300 percent of the estimated cost of the work or improvements based on estimated costs immediately following the expiration of the device. Additionally, a maintenance assurance device in the amount of at least 10 percent of the cost of replacing the materials covered by the assurance device based on estimated costs on the last day covered by the device. The following project cost estimates are provided for the purpose of determining the amount of assurance devices. This does not represent a bid.
