There is no required match for acceptance of these funds. Project summary statement: The Everett Police Department (EPD) is requesting to apply for funds for twelve (12) compressed air less lethal launchers and the associated supplies. As a result of legislation passed in 2021 (RCW 10.116.040), EPD is in need of less than lethal equipment to help support patrol operations and the Special Operations Group. The Special Operations Group respond to civil unrest or special events providing protection of life and property for the citizens of Everett and Snohomish County. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Authorize city staff to apply for and if awarded authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents and agreements with the Washington State Department of Commerce regarding the application, acceptance, and utilization of the RFP for Less Than Lethal Equipment in the amount of $50,569.00.
