There is no required match for acceptance of <br />these funds. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The Everett Police Department (EPD) is requesting to apply for funds for twelve (12) <br />compressed air less lethal launchers and the associated supplies. As a result of <br />legislation passed in 2021 (RCW 10.116.040), EPD is in need of less than lethal <br />equipment to help support patrol operations and the Special Operations Group. The <br />Special Operations Group respond to civil unrest or special events providing protection <br />of life and property for the citizens of Everett and Snohomish County. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize city staff to apply for and if awarded authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary <br />documents and agreements with the Washington State Department of Commerce <br />regarding the application, acceptance, and utilization of the RFP for Less Than Lethal <br />Equipment in the amount of $50,569.00. <br />
