Calculations for the project have only
recently been received. The review will continue with any comments forwarded under
separate letter.
2) The addition is shown to have been designed as a seismic risk category II building. Please
discuss why the building is not a risk category III structure [the building has a primary
occupancy is public assembly and the overall building (addition plus existing) has an
occupant load exceeding 5000]. Table 1604.5
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the
Building Division with two new sets of revised construction documents reflecting the corrections
requested. Please include a response letter which indicates how the corrections were resolved.
All codes cited refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), 2015 International Existing
Building Code (IEBC), the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), the 2015 International Mechanical
Code (IMC), and/or the 2015 Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), as amended by the State
of Washington and adopted by the City of Everett. Federal ADA regulations and standards may be more restrictive.
These comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required
by other departments (such as Utilities, Traffic, Planning or Fire). All required submittals must
be of sufficient detail and information to ensure that the proposed structure will be constructed
in compliance with all adopted codes.
Sincerely,
Tony Lee
Building Official
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8813 • age 4/
