We will be backfilling the Deputy City Clerk position no later than October 1,to provide for sufficient cross-over training in this critical position. An amendment is needed to provide the necessary budget authority to fund the overlap. Asa result,the Everett Police Department is required to remove such weapons from service. These military style weapons are being replaced with less lethal impact weapons for Patrol operations and SWAT members. This amendment proposes to increase the Police budget by$9,000 to fund these replacements. The storage container will provide officers with a more efficient means to process and impound personal property. The property will be stored in totes within the Conex storage container for safekeeping. Property room standards and protocols must be followed for the safekeeping of all property,hence the requirement of an alarm. The homeless rarely go to the Property Room to retrieve items,but with a Conex being at the Pallet Shelter site,they will have greater access,and additionally,our social workers will have another critical opportunity to provide outreach at the time of property release.
