compressed air less-than-lethal launchers available. Six of the launchers will be assigned to each precinct. <br /> 6. Due to the previous purchase five FN-303 launchers, the Everett Police Department <br /> has two officers who have been certified as instructors on the FN-303 compressed air less-than-lethal <br /> launcher system. Two officers per squad (twelve squads) are receiving on-duty training on the launcher <br /> to immediately deploy the launchers for use in the field. Equipment acquired under this RFP can be put <br /> into service immediately and utilized by officers who have already been trained in the use of the <br /> equipment. The four launchers intended for use by the Special Operations Group will be assigned to <br /> members of the team who were previously assigned 40mm less-than-lethal launchers and will receive on- <br /> duty training in the use of the FN-303 compressed air less-than-lethal launchers. The Special Operations <br /> Group trains three times per year and the personnel assigned the FN-303 launchers will qualify at each <br /> training. <br /> In 2022, all personnel below the rank of lieutenant are required to attend a police skills refresher <br /> (PSR) four-day course. One of the blocks of instruction will be on the use of the FN-303 compressed air <br /> less-than-lethal launcher system enabling all officers, sergeants, and detectives to maintain their <br /> certification by qualifying semi-annually with the less-than-lethal launcher. The supporting equipment <br /> acquired under this grant will be distributed to the Everett Police Department's armorer for the care and <br /> maintenance of the launcher. <br /> 7. The Everett Police Department, being a general authority Washington law <br /> enforcement agency is authorized to deploy less-than-lethal equipment to its personnel who are <br /> authorized to use reasonable force under RCW 10.120.020.1(a).
