B. Identify the needs/problems to be addressed with data source
Although we have made progress in recent years, to include 36.4% of all new police officer hires
in 2021 being female and 45.S of BIPOC, the demographics of the Everett Police Department do
not represent the community we serve. Exhibit A; "Everett Police Department Staff" depicts our
current 2021 composition of sworn staff compared to July 2019 Snohomish County census data.
Our project, as described above, will focus on closing that gap with our emphasis on reaching the
BIPOC community.
C. Description of outreach efforts within the community
The Everett Police Department has participated in and has created community outreach
programs over the past 15 years that continue today.
