The
soap dispenser has been relocated. Please also see Interior Elevations 6/A2.3.
Miscellaneous:
14. Male and female water closets:
This comment has not been addressed. The original comment stated that the building
requires male and female water closets at the ratios of 1 per-125 and 1 per-65,
respectively, per IBC Table 2902.1. Based on an even number of male and female
occupants per Section 2902.1.1, the building requires a minimum of two male and three
female water closets. The response states that the restrooms are close to the number
required and that additional facilities should not be needed. Note that the ratios stated
above reflect the A-3 occupancy only. The building also includes B occupancies, which
require restroom facilities at ratios exceeding the requirements for the A-3 occupancy (i.e.,
approximately four water closets and three lavatories for each sex). The minimum facilities
specified in the original comment shall be provided. See IBC Section 2902.1.
Please see the attached letter documenting the extent to which the proposed number of
toilet rooms and fixtures will adequately serve the project and its program.
15. No additional comment.
16. No additional comment.
17. Safety glazing & U-value of glazing in new door:
This comment has not been completely addressed. Elevation 4/A2.2 specifies to relocate
an existing exterior door with glazing to this location. The following comments shall be
addressed:
a. The glazing in the door and adjacent windows shall have safety glazing per IBC Sections
2406.4.1 and 2406.4.2. The existing glazing left of the door shall be replaced with safety
glazing.
b. The door shall have a maximum thermal rating of U=0.6 per WSEC-15 Table C402.4.
See WSEC Section C503.1. The note stating W=O. 6 or better" is not clear. The note shall
be revised to state "maximum of U=0.6."
Sheet A2.2: A note indicating new safety glazing with a maximum U-value of
0.38 Btu/h•ft2-'F has been added for the glazing adjacent to the proposed new exterior Door
115. The note for said door has been revised to read "maximum U-value of 0.60".
18. Attachment at new interior, non-structural partition walls:
This comment has not been completely addressed. Detail 10/A2.4 has been added in
response to the original comment, showing top and bottom interior wall connections. The
following comments shall be addressed:
a. The required nailing (i.e., number and size) between the top plate and the roof structural
framing shall be specified. Specify the nailing between the blocking and trusses.
b. The top plate connection shall connect directly to the roof structural framing (i.e, trusses
and blocking), and shall not connected through the ceiling GWB. The GWB is not required
to be continuous provided that the joint between 5/8-inch wall and ceiling GWB is sealed on
each side of the wall.
