The
Revision as of March 18th, 2016 does comply with the International Building Code, 2015
Edition.
iTil:7itJl li[I►
The guardrail system consists of 42" high x 64" on center baluster spacing, fascia mount, extruded
aluminum balusters and rails and %" tempered glass infill panels. Aluminum connection plates are
attached with (4) #14 x 3" stainless steel pan head screws to 2x8 hem -fir #2 fascia board and
blocking (decking structure sketch enclosed).
The tap rail runs continuously over the top of the interior balusters and mounts into sleeves at the
corner posts. Top rails attach to intermediate posts with a post mounting bracket. Bottom rails
extend from baluster to baluster and attach with rail clips screwed to the post with #10 x 1 Yz"
screws. Y," tempered glass panels are positioned between the top and bottom rails in pressure
fitted rigid vinyl inserts.
Baluster posts are 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" x 0.080" internally stiffened extruded aluminum tubes welded to
Y4" X 3'/" X 5%" aluminum fascia connection plates with (4) fasteners. Corner balusters are
welded to 3Y2" X 3%" XY4" X 5%" angle corner fascia connection attached witA (2) fasteners each
leg (4 fasteners total). See attached drawings for extrusion details, materials and specifications.
TEST CONFIGURATION
(3) 5'-4" bays and (1) 5'-4" bay return at ends with attachment to walls at each end.
TEST DECK CONFIGURATION
The 15'-g" wide x 10'-6" deep test deck was framed from 2x8 rim joist at a frame wall to a single
2x8 rim joist with 2x8 hem -fir #2 joists @ 16" o.c. perpendicular to the 16'-9" width. Double
blocking was added at each corner and at intermediate balusters. The frame was bolted to a
three beam steel test frame and sheathed with CD-X plywood. Refer to attached drawing for
test deck framing and details.
TEST EQUIPMENT
AIR RAM TO APPLY LOAD: Econo-Ram II model #FW2F110521, Serial Number EW323266A,
250 PSI GUAGE TO MEASURE APPLIED FORCE: Dyna Link Model MSI-7200, Serial Number
45964, capacity 2000 Digital gauge.
R
Ipr
OCT 2 3 2019 [V
CITY OF EVERETT
Permit Services
