DocuSign Envelope ID:704E0E30-EC1C-4FAA-8969-49FCE6E1A74E <br /> grant;admission fees;broadcast or distribution rights;and license fees and royalties on patents and copyrights. <br /> However,program income does not include rebates,credits,discounts,and interest earned on any of them. <br /> Grantee may deduct the costs incident to the generation of program income,if these are not already charged to the <br /> grant,to determine program income. <br /> Grantee may add program income to the existing project funding to cover otherwise allowable costs of the funded <br /> project or it may be used to support other projects in the humanities. <br /> 5. Interest Earned on Advances(2 CFR§200.305) <br /> Recipients of National Endowment for the Humanities funds are required to maintain advances of Federal funds in <br /> interest bearing accounts unless they receive less than$120,000 in Federal awards during their fiscal year. If a grantee <br /> chooses to deposit these funds in an interest bearing account,it may retain the first$500 in interest earned each fiscal <br /> year. Interest earned in excess of this amount on funds advanced by Humanities Washington shall be forwarded to <br /> Humanities Washington and returned to the National Endowment for the Humanities,as detailed in 2 CFR§200.305(9). <br /> 6. Allowable and Unallowable Costs <br /> The allowability of costs and cost allocation methods for work performed under a National Endowment for the <br /> Humanities grant shall be determined in accordance with 2 CFR 200,Subpart E-Cost Principles. <br /> Grantee must not use funds for the following purposes: <br /> A. unallowable expenses as defined in 2 CFR 200 Subpart E-Cost Principles; <br /> B. overlapping project costs with any other pending or approved application(s)for Federal funding and/or approved <br /> Federal awards; <br /> C. funds for activities supported by other non-NEH Federal funds; <br /> D. competitive regranting; <br /> E. cancellation costs; <br /> F. pre-award costs prior to March 15,2021; <br /> G. equipment costs in excess of 20 percent of total project costs; <br /> H. travel(both foreign and domestic); <br /> I. construction,purchase of real property,major alteration and renovation; <br /> J. environmental sustainability; <br /> K. collections acquisition; <br /> L. the preservation,organization,or description of materials that are not regularly accessible for research,education,or <br /> public programming; <br /> M. promotion of a particular political,religious,or ideological point of view; <br /> N. advocacy of a particular program of social or political action; <br /> 0. support of specific public policies or legislation; <br /> P. lobbying;and <br /> Q. projects that fall outside of the humanities and the humanistic social sciences(including the creation or performance <br /> of art;creative writing,autobiographies,memoirs,and creative nonfiction;and quantitative social science research or <br /> policy studies). <br /> In accordance with Public Law 111-88 Sec.427,none of the funds made available under this award may be distributed to <br /> the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now(ACORN)or its subsidiaries. <br /> 7. Fundraising <br /> Fundraising costs may not be charged as expenditures under this award. <br /> 8. Lobbying Activities(2 CFR§200.450) <br /> Grantee is prohibited by The Byrd Anti-Lobbying Amendment(31 U.S.C.1352),"Limitation on use of appropriated funds <br /> to influence certain Federal contracting and financial transactions,"from using appropriated National Endowment for the <br /> Humanities funds to pay any person for influencing or attempting to influence any officer or employee of an agency,a <br /> member of Congress,an officer or employee of Congress,or an employee of a member of Congress with respect to the <br /> award,extension,continuation,renewal,amendment,or modification of any of these instruments. While non-Federal <br /> funds may be used for such activities,they may not be included in your budget,and their use must be disclosed to <br /> Humanities Washington. These requirements are implemented by the National Endowment for the Humanities in 45 CFR <br /> part 1168.
