<br />BMP T5.13: Post -Construction Soil Quality and Depth
<br />i. Soil Quality: All areas subject to clearing and grading that have not been covered
<br />by hard surface, incorporated into a drainage facility, or engineered as structural
<br />fill or slope shall demonstrate the following at project completion:
<br />• A topsoil layer with a minimum organic matter content of 10% dry weight
<br />in planting beds and 5% organic content in turf areas, with a pH from 6.0
<br />— 8.0 or matching the pH of the undisturbed native soil.
<br />• The topsoil layer shall have a minimum depth of eight inches except where
<br />tree roots limit the depth of incorporation of amendments needed to meet
<br />the criteria.
<br />• Subsoils below the topsoil layer shall be scarified at least four inches with
<br />some incorporation of the upper material to avoid stratified layers, where
<br />feasible.
<br />• Planting beds shall be mulched with 2 inches of organic material.

<br />1. NO PART OF THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM SHALL BE COVERED, CONCEALED OR PUT INTO USE UNTIL IT HAS
<br />BEEN INSPECTED, TESTED, AND ACCEPTED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT.
<br />2. ALL WORK AND MATERIAL SHALL CONFORM TO THE CITY OF EVERETT STANDARDS AND STANDARD
<br />SPECIFICATIONS OFWSDOT/APWA.
<br />3. APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES HAVE BEEN OBTAINED FROM AVAILABLE RECORDS
<br />AND ARE SHOWN FOR CONVENIENCE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFICATION OF
<br />LOCATIONS AND TO AVOID DAMAGE TO ANY ADDITIONAL UTILITIES SHOWN. IF CONFLICTS WITH
