There were few trees present on the site, and a <br /> horse chestnut(Aesculushippocastanum)was located to the south of one of the <br /> recently rerouted drainage ditches. <br /> b. What kind and amount of vegetation will be removed or altered? <br /> Some of the existing vegetation species were removed or altered as part of the drainage ditch <br /> rerouting activities.Approximately 4,845 If of drainage ditch rerouting work was completed as <br /> part of the previous activities. <br /> Additional vegetation may be removed or altered as part of the proposed site restoration (the <br /> Project).Areas that are disturbed will be planted and reseeded in order to control erosion and <br /> maintain slope stability. Full details are included in the Restoration Plan (Attachment 3)that was <br /> prepared in coordination with the City of Everett. <br /> c. List threatened and endangered species known to be on or near the site. <br /> There are no threatened or endangered plant species known to be on or near the site. <br /> d. Proposed landscaping, use of native plants, or other measures to preserve or <br /> enhance vegetation on the site, if any: <br /> The previous drainage ditch rerouting and property leveling activities did not include any <br /> landscaping, use of native plants, or other measures for vegetation preservation or <br /> enhancement at the property. However, restoration activities proposed as part of the Project <br /> include establishing a 50-foot stream buffer with native vegetation along the UNT as well as <br /> seeding and planting the new Ditch 3 and disturbed areas with native vegetation (as identified in <br /> the Restoration Plan)to stabilize the banks. Proposed landscaping and use of native plants is <br /> further described in the Planting Plan (Attachment 1, Sheet 8)and the Restoration Plan in <br /> Attachment 3. <br /> e. List all noxious weeds and invasive species known to be on or near the site. <br /> Noxious weeds and invasive species observed during the April 2019 site visit included <br /> Himalayan blackberry,bull thistle,Canada thistle, and reed canarygrass. <br /> 5. Animals fhelpl <br /> a. List any birds and other animals which have been observed on or near the site or <br /> are known to be on or near the site. <br /> Examples include: <br /> birds: hawk,heron,eagle,songbirds,other <br /> mammals: deer, bear,elk, beaver,other <br /> fish: bass,salmon,trout, herring,shellfish,other <br /> During the April 2019 site visit, bird species including mallards(Anas platyrhynchos), <br /> wood ducks(Aix sponsa), and robins(Turdus migratorius)were observed. Other <br /> unidentified songbirds were also present, and evidence(i.e.,tracks,scat) of coyotes <br /> (Canis latrans), blue herons(Ardea herodias), and raccoons(Procyon lotor)were <br /> observed. The ditches may support amphibians such as frogs; however, no <br /> amphibians or egg masses were observed during the site visit. <br /> 9 <br />
