Specific location
information for the Project site includes the following:
City,County, State: Everett, Snohomish County, Washington
General Location: East of the 7500 block of La rimer Road, west of the Snohomish River
Latitude/Longitude: 47.929360° N/-122.184391' W(approximate center of Project site)
PLSS: Section 9, Township 28 North, Range 5 East
Tax Parcels: 28050800101400, 2805090(1200800, 28050800101700,
28050900200900, 2805090(1300300, 28050900300400
Project Background
Golden Eagle Farms purchased the Project property in 2013 for the purpose of establishing a
commercial blueberry farm.At the time of purchase, most of the property was either fallow or under
cultivation for hay. Prior to purchase, the majority of Project property had been used for agricultural
purposes or had laid fallow for over a decade or longer. The primary agricultural uses of the property
during that period included hay and timber production. As a result of such activities, the soil,
vegetation, and hydrology of the site had been subjected to previous disturbance including native
vegetation removal from land clearing;soil disturbance from plowing, tilling, and disking;and
hydrologic alteration from ditch construction.
In 2017,Golden Eagle Farms prepared the Project site for commercial blueberry production by
regrading and leveling the site and relocating drainage ditches and the UNT. Following these
activities, Daniel and Shavonne Tonnes filed a lawsuit against Golden Eagle Farms claiming the
earthmoving activities negatively affect the Tonnes property.A settlement agreement was reached
whereby the following actions would be undertaken:
• Fill in the UNT located at the common property line of the southern boundary of the Project
area, between the Golden Eagle Farms property and the Tonnes property, and regrade, seed,
and vegetate this area to ensure soil stability.
