0 0 <br /> Ted de Budden <br /> From: Ted de Budden . <br /> Sent: Wednesday,August 7, 2019 2:23 PM <br />• <br /> To: Katie Rathbun <br /> Cc: Eileen Hinkley <br /> Subject: 844 Olympic Ave. <br /> Construction Activity at 844 Olympic Ave Everett <br /> On August 5th 2019 I received a request from Code Enforcement Officer Eileen Hinkley EPD.to investigate a report about <br /> construction activity being conducted without required permits at 844 Olympic Ave. Everett WA. <br /> On August 6, 2019 I conducted an Inspection/investigation of the reported construction activity at this location. Here is <br /> a brief summary of my observations and actions based on this inspection. <br /> Observations made from the front entry and driveway area as follows: <br /> 1.A new elevated wooden deck structure is currently under construction in the front of the building,the structure is <br /> approximately 16 ft. by 20 ft. in size. <br /> 2. New sliding glass doors have been installed in the front of the house to access the newly constructed deck. <br /> 3.A newly constructed exterior wall has been erected in the rear portion of the building to alter the existing carport to <br /> create a garage. <br /> 4. Newly installed electrical wiring and electrical equipment was observed within the open garage and at various <br /> locations on the exterior of the front of the building. <br /> 5. New windows have been installed throughout.the building with associated opening alterations of the structure. <br /> 6. New gypsum wallboard has been installed within the now enclosed garage area. <br /> 7. No entry was made to interior of the building, based on noises and activities observed while on site additional <br /> construction work is being conducted within the structure. <br /> A permit records check was made to determine if any permits have been issued for the construction and electrical work <br /> being conducted on the structure. <br /> Permits for the activity observed have not been applied for nor issued. <br /> It is my conclusion that the construction work occurring at 844 Olympic Ave is being conducted without required permits <br /> and approvals.The activity is a violation of adopted Codes, "R105 of the international Residential Code and 108.1.4 of <br /> the International Property Maintenance Code." <br /> I have posted a Stop Work order on the front of the building for the unpermitted activities, it has been reported to me <br /> by several sources that construction work continues. <br /> Ted de Budden <br /> - Chief Inspector I Permit Services <br /> 425.257-72711 3200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201 <br /> EVERETT Hours: Monday—Friday 7:30am-12:OOpm and 1:O0pm-4:OOpm <br /> everettwa.gov I Facebook I Twitter <br /> Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public <br /> Records Act. <br /> 1 <br />
