INSPECTION SUMMARY <br /> 2130 Colby Avenue,Everett,Washington <br /> Van Valey House and adjacent carriage house:The house is a 2 story building constructed on <br /> a concrete foundation. There is a full basement,a main floor, and second floor. The carriage <br /> house is a 2 story building setting on a concrete slab.The roofing and paint on both buildings <br /> appears to be homogenous. The roof is covered with multi layers of 3-tab composition shingles <br /> over tar and paper. The siding on the house is painted wood. <br /> ASBESTOS: <br /> (Homogenous Material# 19)Black sealant between the siding and the roof edge was discovered on <br /> the roof of the house and the carriage house. The material was found to contain 4%chrysotile <br /> asbestos. <br /> MAl'bRIAL AREA AMOUNT ASSESSMENT DAMAGE <br /> Black sealant Between siding 680 linear Non-friable. Fair, <br /> and roofing, in feet .001 distributed <br /> valleys,around <br /> dormers and roof <br /> penetrations <br /> Materials sampled by The Knebel Company Inc.,and found to be NON-ASBESTOS <br /> CONTAINING MATERIALS in 2011 <br /> (Homogenous Material# 17)Black vapor barrier paper <br /> (Homogenous Material# 18)Gray pliable building sealant <br /> (Homogenous Material#20)Multi-layers of composition roofing with tar and paper <br /> (Homogenous Material#21)Black sealant with white material <br /> Materials sampled by The Knebel Company Inc., and found to be ASBESTOS CONTAINING <br /> MATERIALS in 2002 <br /> Thermal system insulation in the form of corrugated insulation paper on straight runs of <br /> piping(homogenous material#03)was discovered throughout the house. The piping insulation <br /> was found to contain 45%chrysolite asbestos.Due to non-destructive sampling techniques, this <br /> material was not accessed inside the walls. It is assumed that it exists inside the wall chases as <br /> well as in the accessible spaces. <br /> MATERIAL AREAS AMOUNT ASSESSMENT DAMAGE <br /> Piping Throughout the Approx. 550 Friable 2%visible damage <br /> insulation on house lineal feet <br /> straight piping <br /> White thermal insulation material on fittings,joints,tees and elbows(homogenous material <br /> #02)was discovered on the piping throughout the house. The insulation material was found to <br /> contain 65%chrysotile asbestos. Due to non-destructive sampling techniques, this material was <br /> not accessed inside the walls. It is assumed that it exists inside the wall chases as well as in the <br /> accessible spaces. <br /> MATERIAL AREAS AMOUNT ASSESSMENT DAMAGE <br />
