January 19, 2022 <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin followed up on Council Member Vogeli's suggestion from last <br /> week's Council meeting regarding the City's participation in the Puget Sound <br /> Climate Preparedness Collaborative. She thanked Council Member Vogeli for <br /> bringing that forward and stated that staff contacted the Steering Committee <br /> and made arrangements to participate. Kimberley Cline, Communications <br /> Director and acting Climate Change Program Coordinator, will represent the City <br /> in this collaborative and work closely with Council Member Vogeli. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Zarlingo stated that he attended the Puget Sound Regional <br /> Council Transportation Advisory Committee meeting last week. He gave a brief <br /> overview of the work conducted by the committee. Discussion topics included the <br /> distribution of federal funds towards roads vs. non-road projects and the <br /> complexity of those decisions. He also commented on the recent Snohomish <br /> Health District update regarding COVID-19 cases. He encouraged everyone to be <br /> careful and do everything possible to get past this difficult period. He also <br /> participated in a Transit meeting at which three possibilities for transit moving <br /> forward were discussed. <br /> Council Member Rhyne attended the Bayside Neighborhood Association meeting <br /> with Council Member Fosse. The League of Women Voters presented information <br /> regarding how the city can become more involved in the preservation and <br /> enhancement of our tree canopy, and its importance to the health and well-being, <br /> quality of air, and quality of life in our community. She also attended the Library <br /> Board meeting and watched a presentation on a study to determine the viability <br /> of imbedding a social worker in the library in collaboration with the Community <br /> Outreach and Enforcement Team (COET). Next week she will be attending the <br /> Parks Board meeting during which they will be discussing the PROS plan. She will <br /> pass along any suggestions to the public and Council. <br /> Council Member Schwab stated that he attended the Harborview—Seahurst- <br /> Glenwood Neighborhood Association meeting at which there was a presentation <br /> on the "Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop" located in Everett on Broadway. <br /> 2 <br />
