January 26, 2022 <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin shared that the city is applying for a funding opportunity with the <br /> Snohomish County Office of Recovery and Resilience, which is offering <br /> jurisdictions up to $250,000 to support shelters. The City is applying to help to <br /> expand pallet shelters and supportive services, which would complement existing <br /> projects funded with the City's ARPA funds.The deadline for submission is January <br /> 31, 2022. If the City is successful in obtaining the grant, it will be brought forward <br /> to the Council for formal acceptance of the funds. <br /> Mayor Franklin recommended that the following applicants be appointed to a <br /> City of Everett Board or Commission. Each candidate has been interviewed by <br /> staff. Attributes, including equity, geographic location, diversity of thought, and <br /> applicable background were taken into consideration with each appointment. <br /> APPOINTMENTS/RE-APPOINTMENTS <br /> Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Vogeli, to <br /> concur with the following appointments: <br /> Everett Animal Shelter <br /> • POS 3, Nathan Shelby: 6 -year term <br /> • Alternate POS 2, Leonelle Ogden: to fill term expiring December 31, 2022 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Franklin then invited Chief Templeman from the Police Department to <br /> introduce three new police officers. <br /> OATH —POLICE OFFICERS <br /> 2 <br />
