January 26, 2022 <br /> Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Vogeli, to <br /> concur with the appointments of Silas Maglaqui, Nia Lawes and Chad <br /> Sommerfeld as new Everett Police Officers. <br /> Roll was called with all Council Members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, and Council Members <br /> congratulated Police Officers Maglaqui, Lawes and Sommerfeld. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Rhyne attended the Council of Neighborhoods during which mini <br /> grants were discussed. She encouraged the community to reach out to their <br /> neighborhood association's chair to share ideas. She attended the Pinehurst- <br /> Beverley Park Neighborhood Association hybrid meeting and discussed the <br /> Helping Hands efforts, the PROS plan, and school replacement levies. She also <br /> attended the Library Board and discussed the new shipment of COVID-19 masks <br /> that would be available to the public soon. <br /> Council Member Vogeli welcomed and thanked the new police officers and stated <br /> that she attended the (TAC) Transportation Advisory Committee meeting where <br /> there was discussion regarding the bicycle plan and comprehensive plan update <br /> that is due in 2024. She also attended the Cascade View Neighborhood meeting <br /> alongside Council Member Zarlingo where there was discussion on speed zone <br /> signs that are inoperable in that area. She asked for public input on prohibiting all <br /> plastic corrugated yard. She requested that the public send comments and ideas <br /> to her directly. <br /> Council Member Schwab welcomed and thanked the new police officers for <br /> choosing Everett. He also thanked the Mayor and Chief Dave DeMarco for their <br /> testimony on House Bill 1811, which would allow cities the option of a voter- <br /> approved fire benefit charge. He also thanked Planning Director Yorik Stevens- <br /> Wajda for his testimony on the Housing and Human Services, House Bill 1880, <br /> 3 <br />
