January 26, 2022 <br /> which encourages affordable housing. Deputy Mayor Nick Harper and Council <br /> Member Schwab represented the City of Everett with the Economic Alliance of <br /> Snohomish County to discuss transportation packages, specifically the Hwy 529 <br /> and 1-5 HOV lanes, and the importance of obtaining engineering design funds for <br /> a pedestrian bridge that connects the east side of North Broadway to Everett <br /> Community College. <br /> Council Member Tuohy welcomed and thanked the new police officers.She stated <br /> that she attended the Snohomish County 911 Board meeting last week and is <br /> looking forward to setting up Public Safety and Homelessness and Housing <br /> Committee meetings after the Council Retreat scheduled Friday, January 28tn <br /> Council Member Fosse welcomed and thanked the new police officers and stated <br /> that she attended the Delta Tactical Urbanism Planning Community meeting on <br /> pedestrian safety and calming measures. She met with Cynthia Pruitt for an <br /> overview of Snohomish County Tomorrow (SCC). She attended the Northwest <br /> Neighborhood Association meeting where there was a presentation on the Everett <br /> Career Link internship program, and the school replacement levies were <br /> discussed. She expressed her appreciation for Everett Community College's Early <br /> Learning Center and the services and programs they provide to our community. <br /> She also attended the Historical Commission meeting where they finalized their <br /> 2022 work plan. <br /> Council Member Zarlingo welcomed and thanked the new police officers. He <br /> stated he attended the Cascade View and the hybrid Pinehurst — Beverley Park <br /> Neighborhood meetings. He will follow up with an individual who expressed <br /> concern about backups on 7th Avenue. He also represented Everett at the <br /> Snohomish Health District Program Policy Committee meeting and discussed the <br /> COVID-19 cases and hospital capacity issues. He thanked community members <br /> for doing what they can to be careful and slow the growth of the virus. He thanked <br /> the Parks Department for responding to Council Member Rhyne's question on <br /> access to undeveloped lands. Parks staff described three types of park lands, <br /> which include passive, active, and conservation properties, and the importance of <br /> each to the community. Council Member Zarlingo concluded by stating that he is <br /> happy to see the PROS plan and council district structure working together to <br /> focus on more equal investment and access to parks across the city. <br /> 4 <br />
