18400 Von Karman Ave. Suite 600 Irvine, CA 92612 949.252.1022 kpff.com lTff
February 19, 2021
Jefferson Schmidtke
Everidge
15600 37th Ave N
Plymouth, MN 55446
RE: Everidge — E014869 —Bethany at Silver Crest
Response to Structural Comments
KPFF Job #2000618.00, File #1.10
Dear Jefferson:
This letter is written in response to the comments received by Drew Martin, S.E. from the city of Everett,
WA. See comment and response below.
Structural Plans Comments:
The structural calculations indicate a calculated snow load of 17.6 psf has been used (based on a snow
load of 15 psf). While this complies with code, the design must also consider additional snow effects
including but not limited to snow drifting, snow shedding from the main building, and ponding
effects. Note that the freezer appears to have a flat lid, so ponding during a snow event could be a
significant issue. Alternatively, the design may be shown to comply with a uniform load of 25 psf.
Response: Attached is sheet U-1-1_3 from the submitted calculations which contains the calculation of
the drift snow load of 41.7psf which scales down to the 17.6psf typical roof snow load after 7.5ft. 1 also
added an additional calculation with some comparison of the snow drift load vs the 25psf load noted in
the comment that would be acceptable to comply with.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. Thank you.
Sincerely,
William H. Thorpe
Principal
