Exhibit A: Scope of Work,Amendment 1 <br /> City of Everett Contract No. 156839 <br /> Water Filtration Plant Portal 4 Improvements Design Contract Scope of Services <br /> Everett Water Filtration Plant Portal 4 Improvements Design <br /> Amendment 1 <br /> Project Understanding <br /> The City of Everett Water Filtration Plant (WFP) is located adjacent to Lake Chaplain approximately <br /> 16 miles east of Everett, WA. The WFP provides water for over 600,000 people, which is <br /> approximately 75% of the population of Snohomish County. This critical piece of infrastructure <br /> supports the water supply in the north Puget Sound area and its continued operation is vital for the <br /> wellbeing of area residents and the economy of the City of Everett. The improvements included in <br /> this project are as originally identified in the update WFP Facility Plan and CIP. The project <br /> deliverables will include a Basis of Design Report and subsequent Construction Documents depicting <br /> Portal 4 improvements that meets WAC 246-290.This scope of work has been updated through <br /> Amendment 1 to include the addition of valves and vaults on transmission lines 2, 3, and 4, a <br /> security fence around the Portal 4 structure, replacement of the single phase cable servicing Portal <br /> 4, and cost estimating conducted during basis of design. This updated scope of work extends the <br /> existing Portal 4 Improvements design contract with Brown and Caldwell to include a cost estimate <br /> completed in the basis of design phase, additional preliminary and intermediate design for CIP <br /> additions, final design, subconsultant services for surveying, geotechnical work, and condition <br /> inspection, bid period support, services during construction, additional project management, <br /> additional quality control on added deliverables, and an allowance for unanticipated services. <br /> Amendment 1 additions to the original scope of work are identified in this exhibit by underlined text. <br /> Scope of Work Summary and Work Breakdown Structure <br /> The Consultant scope of work for the Project includes 13 tasks, which are identified in the following <br /> table.
