Mr. Casey Gish
December 13,2021
Page 2
and details for surface preparation and installation of protective coatings and specialized grout or
concrete products if they are not already available in BC's guide specifications for coatings.
Recommend materials of construction for new and replacement components installed at the facility.
Qualifications to Proposal
CPI's scope and cost estimate are based on the following assumptions and qualifications:
1. For Task A, BC will provide a summary of relevant information, along with pertinent design and
record drawings.
2. Site work will be performed by one CPI engineer/consultant and is anticipated to take one full day.
3. Site work will not involve confined space entry or contact with the plant water. All surfaces to be
inspected will be within reach of walkways and platforms. Access to elevated areas will require
use of a ladder(supplied by plant staff). Corrosion deposit and concrete powder sampling will be
performed so as to minimize contamination of the plant water.
4. The cost for Task C includes analysis of two corrosion deposit samples and three concrete powder
samples.
5. For Tasks D and E, CPI will focus on protective coatings and materials for replacement or new
components that are suitably resistant to aggressive corrosion in the splitting structure environment.
BC will focus on any needed structural assessment, common concrete repair methods, and steel
rehabilitation outside of coatings.
Cost
CPI's cost to perform the scope of work as described herein will be $19,450.00. This includes all labor,
travel costs and living expenses while on site. BC will be invoiced on a percent-complete basis. Should
the actual schedule result in the need for additional days on site for CPI, or the results of any task indicate
the need for a change in work scope or cost, CPI will first contact you to discuss our findings and obtain
your approval to modify the statement of work and/or cost.
We at CPI sincerely appreciate the opportunity to support Brown and Caldwell and the City of Everett on
this assessment project. This proposal is respectfully submitted for your review and consideration by,
The Staff of Corrosion Probe,Inc.
Doug s A. Sher ian, PIE.
Vice President/Principal Consultant
ShermanD(a,cpiengineering.corn
(512) 528-0827
cc: L. Chauvin—CPI
