(GeoTest) has previously completed a Geotechnical Engineering report,
titled Geotechnical and Critical Areas Report, Residence Addition, 1528 Grand Avenue, Everett,
Washington, 98201, dated July 17, 2019,for the above-referenced property. Within the context
of the GeoTest report, GeoTest recommended that we perform a review of plans prepared for
this project. This letter is intended to provide documentation of our review of the provided
project plans.
Plan Review
GeoTest has been provided Architectural Plan Sheets A0.0 through A0.2,A2.0 through A2.3,A3.0
and A3.1, and A4.0 and A4.1, prepared by Architecture Studio of Everett, dated May 15, 2019.
GeoTest was also provided Structural Plan Sheet S1,S2,S3 through S3.2,54 through S4.2, S5, S6,
and S7, prepared by Davido Consulting Group, dated December 11, 2019.
GeoTest noted that the top-of-slope setback for foundation elements shown in the Architectural
Plans meet or exceed the top-of-slope setbacks referenced in our geotechnical report for
residence addition foundations, as well as foundations for the proposed carport areas. A review
of the Structural Plans indicate that the planned structural loads do not exceed the referenced
soil bearing capacity referenced in the geotechnical report. Thus, the location and the magnitude
of the planned structural loads are within the parameters that were presented in the
geotechnical report, and GeoTest has no further comment regarding these elements.
GeoTest is providing the following commentary regarding the remainder of the plan sheets that
were reviewed:
1. On Architectural Plan Sheet A0.1,GeoTest recommends limiting the size of the temporary
stockpile shown on the plan sheet to a height of 4 vertical feet or less.
