Per our geotechnical report, GeoTest should be afforded the opportunity to view <br /> foundation subgrade conditions prior to the placement of foundation elements. GeoTest <br /> recommends that the following notes be included in either the plans and/or specifications <br /> prepared for this project: <br /> • Prior to placement of any foundation elements or structural fill, the exposed <br /> subgrade under all areas to be occupied by soil-supported floor slabs, spread, or <br /> continuous foundations should be remedially compacted to a firm and unyielding <br /> condition. <br /> • GeoTest should be contracted to observe the foundation excavation prior to <br /> placement of new fill or footing formwork to verify that suitable bearing <br /> conditions have been achieved. <br /> Based on our review of the provided information,it is our opinion that the plans generally adhere <br /> to the recommendations presented in the geotechnical report. <br /> Closure <br /> We appreciate the opportunity to provide geotechnical services for this project and look forward <br /> to assisting you the further during the construction phase.
