Wildlife Habitat During each monitoring visit,the presence of any wildlife using the site should be noted. PROJECT MONITORING PROGRAM Requirements for monitoring project: 1. Initial compliance report 2. Annual site inspection (in the fall)for five years 3. Annual reports(One report submitted in the fall of each monitored year) Purpose of Monitoring: The purpose of monitoring this mitigation project is to evaluate the success of the mitigation plantings. Success will be determined if monitoring shows that at the end of five years the stated performance standards are being met. The property owner shall grant access to the site for inspection and maintenance to the contracted wetland specialist and to the City of Everett during the period of the bond or until the project is evaluated as successful. Inspection Schedule: Upon completion of the mitigation project, an inspection by a qualified wetland professional will be made to determine plan compliance. An initial compliance report will be supplied to the City of Everett within 30 days after the completion of planting. Condition monitoring of the plantings will be done by a qualified wetland professional in the fall annually for the five-year monitoring period, or until all performance standards are met and approved by the City of Everett. A written report describing the monitoring results will be submitted to City of Everett shortly after the inspection of each monitored year. Final inspection will occur five years after completion of planting.The contracted wetland professional will prepare a final report as to the success of the project. During the site visit for the compliance letter, photo points shall be established in the buffer enhancement area. Pictures should show a general overview of the mitigation area. These photo points shall be recorded and used during each monitoring visit. Monitoring Reports After each monitoring visit, a report describing the condition of the mitigation site shall be prepared.These reports shall be submitted to the City of Everett.These reports will assess both achievement of yearly goals and progress towards achievement of the project goals. Reports will include a description of survival and replacement of the planted stock, plant vigor, percent cover of native vegetation, an assessment of invasive vegetation, and an assessment of wildlife using the site.
