• <br /> • <br /> MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES <br /> The purpose of this maintenance program is to ensure the success of the mitigation plantings. <br /> The planting areas will be maintained in spring and fall of each year for the five years <br /> monitoring period. Maintenance activities will include the following as necessary: <br /> • Plant inspection and replacement <br /> • Control invasive species <br /> • Remove trash <br /> • Replace mulch <br /> Following each monitoring visit, the project biologist will make recommendations for <br /> maintenance. Any replanting will be done by property owner and should be done during the fall <br /> maintenance. Maintenance should be done by hand to avoid impacts to establishing plants and <br /> existing habitat. <br /> CONTINGENCY PLAN <br /> If it is determined at any time during the monitoring period that the goals of the mitigation plan <br /> are not being met, a contingency plan will be devised to improve or alter those elements that <br /> are deficient. If measures beyond standard maintenance are required, a plan containing these <br /> measures will be approved by the City of Everett prior to implementation. <br /> FINANCIAL ASSURANCE <br /> A performance bond (assurance device) shall be provided to the City of Everett in the amount <br /> of 90% of the estimated cost for plant material and labor, monitoring, and maintenance. This <br /> bond shall be released at the end of five years upon a successful determination by the City of <br /> Everett for all portions of this mitigation project.This project shall be considered successful if it <br /> meets the performance standards listed in this plan.
