f
6.0 BOUNDARY DETERMINATION FINDINGS/RESULTS
No wetlands or streams were identified on the subject property. A tributary of Swamp Creek
(Stream A)is located approximately 30 feet southwest of the site.
Stream A
Cowardin Classification: Riverine, Intermittent, Streambed
Stream Classification: Type F
Standard Buffer: 150 feet
Stream A is mapped by the City of Everett as a Type F stream. It is mapped by Snohomish
County as seasonally flowing. There was water in the stream at the time of the May 14, 2021, site
investigation. WDFW maps a partial fish barrier downstream of the site (at the culvert under
Holly Road) and indicates that salmonid species may utilize this area.
The on-site portion of the buffer on Stream A consists of existing development and maintained
lawn and landscaping. Pursuant to EMC 19.37.170(A)(3), Type F streams with buffers that are
unvegetated, sparsely vegetated, or vegetated with invasive species receive 150-foot protective
buffers.
.Non-Wetland Areas
Vegetation on the property consists primarily of maintained lawn. Besides grasses, other species
observed within the lawn areas include creeping buttercup (Ranunculus repens, FAC), velvet grass
(Holcus lanatus; FAC), and birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus: FAC). Soils observed on the site are
dark brown (10YR 3/3) to a depth of at least 18 inches. In the northeastern portion of the site,
soils from 8 to 14 inches depth contain brown (7.5YR 4/4) redoximorphic concentrations and
from 14 to 18 inches strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) redoximorphic concentrations and reddish gray
(5YR 5/2) depletions. Soils have a sandy loam texture to a depth of 14 inches and a gravelly
sandy loam texture below 14 inches. Soils in the northeastern portion of the site were saturated at
the time of the site investigation. Based on field indicators, no areas on the subject property meet
the criteria for wetland determination.
7.0 WILDLIFE
The subject site affords little wildlife habitat as the portions that are not occupied by structures
and impervious surfaces consist primarily of maintained lawn. A few trees along the southern
property boundary provide hiding cover, perching and nesting opportunities, and forage
resources for species adapted to densely developed residential environments.
Given the habitat available, it is expected that the following avian species would be expected to
be present in the area: American Crow (Corms brachyrhynchos), Steller's Jay (Cyanocitta stellerz),
Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapilla), Dark-eyed Junco (junco hyemalis), Spotted Towhee
(Pipilo maculatus), Song Sparrow(Melospiza melodic), and American Robin(Turdus migratorius).
Lucas Property-10632 Rosewood Ave 5 Critical Area Report&Habitat Assessment
WRI#21150 May 19,2021
