Mammalian species that would be expected to use the area include eastern cottontail rabbits
(Sylvilagus floridanus), gray squirrels (Sciurus spp.), raccoon (Procyon lotor), and opossum (Didelphis
virginianus).
A partial (33 percent) fish barrier is mapped by WDFW at downstream of the off-site portion of
Stream A near the property. Salmonid species including Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka), Coho
(Oncorhynchus kisutch), Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), and Coastal cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus
clarki) are listed as potential species associated with this stream reach.
This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and may omit some bird, mammal, reptile, or
amphibian species that utilize or could utilize the area.
8.0 HABITAT ASSESSMENT
Under EMC 19.37.190(B), Stream A (Type F) and the associated riparian corridor are classified
as fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas and are subject to regulation under this section of
code. Pursuant to EMC 19.37.190(D)(1)(a), when development is proposed within 200 feet of a
Type F stream, a habitat assessment is required. A habitat assessment evaluates the potential
presence or absence of a regulated fish or wildlife species or habitat potentially affected by
a development proposal, and contains an assessment of the potential impacts of the proposal on
any regulated species or habitat subject to these regulations.
Stream A is mapped as a Type F stream. A partial (33 percent)fish barrier is mapped by WDFW
downstream of the property at a culvert that flows under Holly Drive. Potential species listed by
WDFW that may be associated with this tributary are Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka), Coho
(Oncorhynchus kisutch), Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), and Coastal cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus
clarki).
The proposed manufactured home will be located in the same location as the existing home,
entirely within the footprint of existing impervious surfaces. The proposed project will result in a
small decrease in impervious area within the buffer. No instream or riparian habitat will be
altered. Temporary erosion and sediment control measures will be implemented if necessary to
ensure that no sediment from the site is deposited in Stream A during construction. Therefore,
no impacts to regulated fish or wildlife species within Stream A will occur as a result of the
proposed project.
Lucas Property-10632 Rosewood Ave 6 Critical Area Report&Habitat Assessment
WRI#21150 May 19,2021
