The purpose for the requested Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone is to reflect the <br /> area which the City owns for an expansion of Edgewater Park, <br /> 2. To allow the proposed expansion of Edgewater Park to occur,the City needs to amend the <br /> Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan from 4.1 (Neighborhood Business)to 2.0 (Park/ <br /> Public Open Space) see Exhibit A, and to change zoning from B-1 (Community Business) to <br /> P (Public Park Zone) see Exhibit B, <br /> 3. The public health, safety and welfare would be provided for by passage of this Ordinance, <br /> and <br /> 4. The proposed Comprehensive Plan map amendment and rezone promotes the best long term <br /> interest of the Everett Community. <br /> WHEREAS CITY COUNCIL CONCLUDES: <br /> 1. The public health, safety and welfare would be provided for by amending the Comprehensive <br /> Plan land use map designation from 1.1 (Single Family) and rezoning the Edgewater Park <br /> expansion area from B-1 (Community Business)to P (Public Park Zone), <br /> 2. The public health, safety and welfare will be provided for by this proposal, and <br /> 3. The proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone promotes the best long term <br /> interest of the Everett Community. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Amendment of the Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> The Comprehensive Plan land use map designation of the property located east of and adjacent <br /> to the existing Edgewater Park site on West Mukilteo Boulevard is hereby amended from 4.1 <br /> (Neighborhood Business)to 2.0 (Parks/Public Open Space), as depicted in Exhibit A, amending <br /> Ordinance No. 2021-94, as amended. <br /> - 2 - <br />
