The program available funding for construction of the project is $3,500,000. Project summary statement: Public Works seeks authorization to call for bids for the Water Filter Plant Emergency Generator Replacement project. The Water Filter Plant Emergency Generator system is comprised of two generators, generator system controls, and supporting infrastructure. The generators have experienced failures in the past, are beyond their expected useful life, and are unable to meet the filter plant's anticipated future electrical demands. The controls and supporting infrastructure are at the end of their expected useful life and in need of modernization and upgrade. The Emergency Generator Replacement project scope includes replacement and upgrade of the emergency generators, control system, fuel storage and delivery system, and other supporting infrastructure. The Engineer's estimate for project construction is $2,712,071.00. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Authorize call for bids for the completion of the Water Filter Plant Emergency Generator Replacement project.
